Message from the Board of Governors
As a Church of England Aided Primary School, the Governors are responsible for all aspects of the school maintenance. Furthermore, Governors are required to provide 10% of any capital spend invested in the school. The support the PTA gives the Board of Governors, helps us to ensure that the buildings are in good order and that we have such excellent and varied resources to further our childrens’ education.
The PTA is an essential part of our school. All parents and carers are members and everyone’s contribution is highly valued. The work of the PTA underpins the whole school. Financial support enables us to create a richer learning environment for our children. The PTA has provided more than £50,000 funding to the school over the past 6 years on small and large projects. Examples of major projects include refurbishment of classrooms, development of the millennium garden area in the playground, nursery play area equipment, laptops and ICT equipment and a refurbishment and restocking of the school library. Smaller sums have also been provided to enhance the musical and sporting activities at school including sponsoring the school team to attend the national lacrosse finals. These projects and activities touch every child in the school and could never have been undertaken so quickly without the incredible support of our PTA.
The wide variety of social functions, allows us all to get to know one another in a more relaxed setting. The children see their parents and the school staff working together for their benefit. They appreciate this united effort and it adds to their feeling of security. Our school would not be the lively and welcoming learning environment it is without the enthusiasm, commitment and hard work of our PTA. The board of governors are fortunate to have such a pro-active and committed PTA in the school community and fully appreciate the hard work and dedication of the committee and the support of all the parents who have given so much over a long period of time.
